x² - x - 6 = 0
⇒x² - 3x + 2x - 6 = 0
⇒x(x - 3) + 2(x - 3) = 0
⇒ (x + 2)(x - 3) = 0
roots are -2 and 3

x²-x-6=0
x²-3x+2x-6=0
x(x-3)+2(x-3)=0
(x+2)=0 (x-3)=0
x=-2 x=3
therefore -2 and 3 are zeroes of polynomial of x²-x-6
