Step-by-step explanation:  x^2 + 2x +1

Firstly , we factorize  them by splitting the middle term,

So we need to factor of 1 which 1

= x^2+1x+1x+1

= x(x+1)+1(x+1)

=(x+1)(x+1)

now , we need to find the zero,

=(x+1)^2

=> x^2+2(x)(1)+1^2=0

=> x^2+2x+1=0

=>x^2+2x= -1

=> x^2 + x = -1x

=>x X x +x = -1x

now the x in L.H.S and R.H.S will be cut

=> x+x = -1

=> 2x = -1

=> x= -1/2

hence, the zero of the polynomial x^2+2x+1 is -1/2
