p(x) => x² - x - 4 = 0
             x² - 2x + 2x - 4 = 0                         (By splitting the middle term)

             x(x - 2) + 2(x - 2) = 0

             (x+2) (x-2) = 0

Hence,  x+2 = 0

                    x = -2
And,     x - 2 = 0
                   x = 2

So -2 and 2 are the zeros of  the given polynomial p(x)

=>x^2 -2x+2x-4=0

=>x(x-2)+2(x-2)=0

=>(x+2)(x-2)=0

=>x=2 or -2
