The demerits of democracy may include the following:
O:Making the wrong choice at elections and the elected leader is only interested in vote bank politics (corruption)
O:The people at times do not appreciate the power of their vote and do not therefore vote at all.
O:Representatives may not be elected on merit. In a system of voting the majority rules and there's no distinction between the votes of the literate and the illiterate.
O:It takes long to take decisions and implement them
