artery takes blood from heart to body part and veins takes it back to heart

arteries carry oxygen-rich blood (except pulmonary artery) whereas veins carry oxygen poor or carbon dioxide rich blood (except pulmonary vein).
arteries carry blood from heart to different organs of our body whereas veins carry blood from different organs of our body to the heart.
the arteries have thick elastic wall whereas veins are thin walled.
