Differences between the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha :

Lok Sabha

1. Members of Lok Sabha are directly elected by the eligible voters.

2. The normal life of every Lok Sabha is 5 years. After five years the term of all elected representatives comes to an end. The Lok Sabha stands dissolved.

3. The maximum strength of the House is 552.

Rajya sabha

1. Members of Rajya Sabha are elected by the elected members of State Legislative Assemblies.

2. The Rajya Sabha is a permanent body. It is not subject to dissolution, but one-third of its member retire every two
