Differences between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells are -

  1. Prokaryotic cells do not have a well-developed nucleus while eukaryotic cells have a well-developed nucleus enclosed in a nuclear envelope.
  2. Prokaryotic cells are usually bacteria and archaea. Eukaryotic cells are found in plants, animals, fungi etc.
  3. Prokaryotic cells do not contain cell organelles but eukaryotic cells have cell organelles.
  4. The size of prokaryotic cells is smaller in comparison to eukaryotic cells.
