Gymnosperms :
These are either trees or bushes with stem, well-developed roots and leaves. Gymnosperms have naked seeds, that is, the seeds are not enclosed in fruits. Most gymnosperms are evergreen.
Angiosperms :
All angiosperms bear flowers and their seeds are enclosed inside the fruits. Angiosperms have long and woody or short and soft stem. Depending upon the number of seed leaves or cotyledons of the seeds, angiosperms are further divided into two groups.
◆ Monocotyledonous plants - The seeds of these plants contain only one cotyledon. For example : Wheat, maize and rice.
◆ Dicotyledonous plants - The seeds of these plants contain two cotyledons. For example : Gram, peas and bean.
