Answer:
Joseph Rudyard Kipling wrote the highly emotional and
patriotic poem "The Children's Song" in the 19th century. He is an
English author born in India.
LAND of our Birth, we pledge
to thee
Our love and toil in the years to be;
When we are grown and take our place,
As men and women with our race.
Kipling speaks (sings) for all children of the country. They are
very grateful to their motherland for all good things that she had done for
them. They promise to love her, live for her in the land itself. They will
serve her after growing up, just like their elders did.
Father in Heaven who lovest
all.
Oh help Thy children when they call;
That they may build from age to age,
An undefiled heritage.
Children are praying to God now. God help your children when they
call You for help. Your children build over years a lot of culture, traditions
and values in the society. They develop arts and crafts. Their children inherit
a grand heritage from their ancestors. Bless them so.
Teach us to bear the yoke in youth,
With steadfastness and careful truth;
That, in our time, Thy Grace may give
The Truth whereby the Nations live.
Oh God! Teach them be steadfast, careful in youth and
be truthful. Teach them to control their youthful anger, rude emotions and work
for good of soceity.
Teach us to rule ourselves alway,
Controlled and cleanly night and day;
That we may bring, if need arise,
No maimed or worthless sacrifice.
Teach
the children to rule themselves nicely. Let them behave in a controlled manner.
Let them rule cleanly without taking sides. If ever necessary they make useful
sacrifices. Let their sacrifices not go in waste.
Teach us the Strength that cannot seek,
By deed or thought, to hurt the weak;
That, under Thee, we may possess
Man's strength to comfort man’s distress.
God give them strength that they cannot get
themselves by thinking or by working. Give them strength not to hurt the weak,
but only to help a man in distress.
Teach us to look in all our ends,
On Thee for judge, and not our friends;
That we, with Thee, may walk uncowed
By fear or favour of the crowd.
God teach the children to care of
themselves in all ways and directions. You
are the judge of their actions and not their friends. Let them grow strong, brave and not be humbled by crowds.
Teach us Delight in simple things,
And Mirth that has no bitter springs;
Forgiveness free of evil done,
And Love to all men ’neath the sun!
Oh God teach them to take joy in simple things and to love all
people on Earth. They believe that all Springs (seasons) are beautiful and
enjoyable. Give them quality of forgiveness, even to forgive evil done to them.
Land of our Birth, our faith, our pride,
For whose dear sake our fathers died;
Oh Motherland, we pledge to thee,
Head, heart, and hand through the years to be!
The children praise their land of birth. In Motherland they grow
to be brave and wise. They learn the discipline, religion, traditions and
faith. She is the pride of all children. For her many ancestors died
protecting her from foreign invaders. So they promise with all their heart,
mind and hands (ie., actions) to serve their motherland.
