 If \: we \:want \: to \:find \:three \: rational \\numbers \: between \: -2 \\ and \: -1 , then \: we \: write \: -2 \:and \:-1 \\as \: rational \: number \:with\\denominator \:  3 + 1 = 4

 i.e., -2 = \frac{-2 \times 4 }{4} = \frac{-8}{4} \\and \: -1 = \frac{-1 \times 4 }{4} = \frac{-4}{4}

 Now,

 -2 = \frac{-8}{4}<\Big( \frac{-7}{4}, \frac{-6}{4}, \frac{-5}{4} \Big) < \frac{-4}{4} = -1

Therefore.,

 \red{ Required \:3 \: rational\: numbers} \\\red{ between \: -2 \:and \:-1 \: are } \\\green { \: \frac{-7}{4}, \frac{-6}{4}, \frac{-5}{4} }
