The similarities between mitochondria and plastids are as follows: Both are cell organelles. ... Mitochondria are found in all eukaryotic cells butplastids are found only in algae and plant cells. Mitochondria is thepowerhouse of the cell while plastidsare the kitchen of the cell.

SIMILARITIES BETWEEN MITOCHONDRIA AND PLASTIDS:-

1-Mitochondria and Plastids both are double membraned structure.

2-They both have their own DNA and ribosomes of their own.

3-They both can be said as the kitchen of the cell. One gives energy by cellular respiration and other by food storage. Difference —Mitochondria lack pigments whereas plastid have it.
