Hamlet, the epic love story written by William Shakespeare is a world-renowned masterpiece. Over the years different adaptations have been made to the play.
But the one that, in my opinion, is the best portrayal of the epic love story is the one in which the actor plays the role of both Hamlet and the ghost as well.
This lets you understand Hamlet’s state of mind more clearly and engages the audience. In many adaptations, Hamlet’s pain is not displayed with such intricacy.
I think the more effective adaptation is the one in which the actor plays both Hamlet and the ghost. The way the actor changes his voice and body language as he speaks helps convey Hamlet's fractured state of mind. In the other version, the actor speaks in a calmer, softer voice, so Hamlet's anguish is not as obvious.
