Two applications of static inertia used in daily life:

◆ Dust particles on a carpet fall when beaten with a stick.

When we beat the carpet with a stick carpet starts moving, but the dust particles on it remains at rest due to inertia of rest and gets separated from the carpet.

● When the branches of a tree are shaken vigorously, ripe fruits fall down due to inertia of rest.

Initially, both the fruits and branches were at rest. When the branches are shaken, it starts moving whereas the fruits remain in a state of rest and gets separated from the branches and fall down.
