Razia Sultan’s rule was supported by Turkish nobles -false
Explanation:
- Razia Sultan ruled in Delhi from 1236 to 1240, being known as the first Muslim women ruler of the Delhi sultanate. She was the daughter of Iltutmish the Mughal ruler
- In 1236 Iltutmish died following a successful rule of 25 years. In the Delhi Sultanate, his death caused years of political turmoil. While Nasir-ud-din, his oldest son, passed away during the governing of Bengal in 1229, the dying sultan saw none of his surviving sons as able leaders. The Sultan rewrote history on his deathbed by nominating Razia, his daugther, for his heiress
- Though her father had nominated, the nobles' court were not willing to be ruled by a woman and hence they didn't support Razia. Instead her surviving brother Rukn-ud-din Firuz was raised to the throne.
- Leaving power in his mother's hands, Firuz had involved in hedonistic pleasures , thereby angering the nobles. In the space of six months from his coming to the throne both his mother and he were killed by the nobles on 9th November 1236. His death led Razia to become Delhi Sultanate's first Muslim woman to rule.
