Primary cell wall is composed of polysaccharides, glycoproteins, phenolic esters, ionically and covalently bound minerals and enzymes.

Primary cells having large amount of cellulose component. It helps in the growth or the divide of cells.

Middle lamella is composed of pectic polysaccharides, lignin, and protein.

During the period of cell division it helps in the division of primary cells as it has some components as calcium and magnesium.

It is placed between the fibres which is helps to cement the primary cell wall.
