Answer:

Let the two consecutive natural numbers be x and x+1

Now, according to the problem

x+(x+1)=23

⇒ 2x+1=23

⇒ 2x=23−1

⇒ 2x=22

⇒ x=

2

22

=11

The one number is 11

The next number is x+1=11+1=12

Hence the numbers are 11 and 12

Answer:

The sum of any two consecutive natural numbers need not be a perfect square of a number. Example: 35 + 36 = 71, not a perfect square.
