Arteries carry blood from the heart to various parts whereas veins carry blood from various parts to the heart.
In arteries blood flows under high pressure whereas blood flows under low pressure in veins.

1.Arteries : they carry pure blood (oxygenated blood) from heart to the body, they can expand though they are flexible. 2.Veins : they carry impure blood from body to the heart, they cannot expand though they are not flexible.
