Distinguishing features of Sultanate and Mughal architecture:
- Just by looking at the buildings constructed in both the architectures we can figure out that the stones used are much different in both of them.
- The stones used in the sultanate architecture are mostly local which are obtained from places like the Aravalis nearby.
- Mughals used particular red stones which is why their buildings are often more pleasing to look at.
- The two major differences are the aesthetics and the amount of Kalamkari work done on the buildings.
- The Kalamkari work done in the Mughal Architecture is far more than what is done in the Sultanate architecture which is why they look a bit bland they use marble for the buildings.
- One more major difference was that the buildings in the Mughal architecture were constructed from the first step and the buildings in sultanate architecture used the rubble from the demolitions of the previous buildings.
