Autotrophs (also called producers) can form their own food either by using sunlight and photosynthesis (phototrophs) or by obtaining chemical energy through oxidation (chemotrophs). ... Some examples of autotrophs include plants, algae, and even some bacteria.

They are simply bacteria that can produce their own food. they harvest the energy stored in nature (eg. sun or high energy chemical bonds) around them to convert inorganic compounds ( eg. CO2) into organic compounds(eg glucose) they can use to produce what they need(eg. energy, amino acids etc)

Cyanobacteria, purple bacteria, green sulfur bacteria, halophiles, and methanogens are some examples of autotrophic bacteria
