One of the poems which I find humorous is a piece created by Roald Dahl by the name of "Cinderella".
Explanation:
Indeed this poem follows the same story line as presented to people in visual form by Disney. The story is same, but rather than showcasing Cinderella as a damsel in distress, this poem shows the demanding side of Cinderella.
There are lines in the poem where Cinderella is demanding the fairy God mother for various things, like dress, slippers, jewellery and much more.
She says,
"And silver slippers, two of those!
'And lovely nylon panty hose!
She uses these lines in her demand and then exclaims how these things would help to trap the prince.
'Done up like that I'll guarantee
'The handsome Prince will fall for me!'
Its funny because in the real story, Cinderella never showcases any interest in trapping the Prince, unlike her step-sisters who are keen on this idea.
