Lord Buddha was born in 566 or 567 B.C at Lumbini.Gautama was the son of the Sakya chief of Kapilvastu, Suddhodana. The name of his mother was Maya Devi who died seven days after his birth. The family also belonged to the Gautama gotra. Another name of Gautama was Siddhartha. Through Gautama grew up in luxury-yet from the early childhood he was fond of meditating for hour on serious topics.
King Suddhodana strongly desired that his son should take interest in material and worldly things. He therefore, gathered all the comforts and luxuries for his son.Finding all this ineffective he married Gautama at the age of sixteen with a beautiful princess, Yashodhara. But the pleasures of the married life and palace could not divert his mind from serious subjects such as, birth, old- age, sickness, death, sorrow and impurity. "At the age of 29 his son, who was named Rahul, was born to him.
His teaching includes various aspects.........
(a) The world is full of miseries :
The world is full of sorrows and miseries and sufferings. Brith, old age, death separation with beloved and the contact with unpleasant give us sorrow and misery.

(b) A man full of desire can never get rid of sorrow which is cause of sadness.
(c) The end of sorrow is possible by the end of desire.
(d) There is a path to the cessation of suffering. (Dukha Nirodha Marga) To end the sufferings of human beings Lord Buddha suggested the Arya Astangika Marg or the noble eight-fold path.

(i) Right thought:

By have right thought man can distinguish between sin and piety, good and evil.

(ii) Right belief:

It is to be free from violence and desire. (Hi) Right speech : It is polite and truthful.

(iv) Right action :

To do good deeds in right action. .

(v) Right living :

This is to adopt right means of livelihood.

(vi) Right endeavour:

Right endeavour is the right efforts taking towards the religion.

(viij Right Re-collection :

It is right mindfulness. (viii) Right meditation : To concentrate the mind on right things is right meditation.

gauthama buddha or siddhartha was the founder of buddhism.he was worried about the miseries of people and longed for a solution.at the age of 29 ,he left his home in search of truth.after meditation at bodh gaya he attained the knowledge about supreme truth and became buddha.this is known as great enlightment.he adviced people that the sufferings can be eradicate by conquering dreams.the teachings of buddha iscontained in a book known as the tripitakas.he gave importance to human beings.his most important tenets was ahimsa.he said that life is full of miseries.he gave more importance to moral lives of people.
