A film and television actor, Sushant Singh Rajput is better known for his performance in the serial ‘Pavitra Rishta’. He also participated in two dance reality shows. His first film was Kai Po Che, released in 2013, in which he was one of the three male leads. He received three Best Male Debut awards for this film. In the same year, another of his movie released was Shuddh Desi Romance, produced by Yash Raj Films. In 2014, Sushant played the role of a Pakistani Muslim in PK.
Personal Life
Sushant Singh Rajput fell in love with his Pavitra Rishta co-star Ankita Lokhande. The couple was in a live-in relationship for six years. Reportedly, they also entered the phase of engagement. However, Sushant announced their split up on Twitter.
Early Life
Sushant Singh Rajput was born in Patna, Bihar. His father was a government official, however, the family has its roots in Maldiha in Purnia district of Bihar. His family moved to Delhi after his mother passed away. Sushant has four elder sisters. One of his sisters is a state-level cricketer.
Sushant Singh Rajput went to St. Karen’s High School in Patna and attended Kulachi Hansraj Model School in New Delhi. He was academically bright and also won national Olympiad in Physics. He ranked 7th in All India Engineering Entrance Exam and cleared at least eleven engineering entrance exams including ISM Dhanbad. He enrolled for studying Mechanical Engineering at the Delhi College of Engineering, but dropped out in fourth year to pursue his career in acting.
Career
In 2008, the casting team of Balaji Telefilms spotted him when he was on stage for one of Ekjute’s plays. His first television serial was Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil. His character in this serial was for a very short period, but he already won many hearts by then. He then starred in Pavitra Rishta, which helped him setting a milestone in his career. He also took part in two dance reality shows, Zara Nachke Dikha 2 and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 4. His film career started with Kai Po Che, a movie that ran well in the box office. After Kai Po Che, he acted in movies like Shuddh Desi Romance, PK, Detective Byomkesh Bakshy. M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, a movie based on life of cricketer M.S. Dhoni, in which he is the male lead, is going to be released on 16th September, 2016. Four of his movies are going to be released in 2017.
