Chemical Equation:

Zn(s ) + 2HCl(aq) ----> ZnCl2(aq) + H2(g)

Zinc metal reacts with Dil.HCl to give Zinc chloride and Hydrogen gas.

Precautions to be followed while performing experiment:
--------------------------------------------------------
1. HCl is a corrosive acid. So care must be taken while handling acid. we can wear saftey gloves and glasses.

2. Use clean Zinc metal , otherwise reaction occurs at very slow rate.

Hello Dear.

When a zinc is Added to the dil. hydrochloric acid (HCL) , A displacement reaction takes place in which Zinc chloride is prepared and hydrogen gas is evolved.

⇆ Reaction ⇆

___________________________

Zn + 2HCl -----------→ ZnCl₂ + H₂
___________________________

The Precautions which should be carried during the reactions are ⇆

i)→ The reaction must be away from fire as Hydrogen gas which is evolved during the reaction is highly combustible

ii)→ HCl  is highly corrosive in Nature , It stains human skin yellow and cause harms. Thus care must be taken while handling it.

iii) Metal & acid must be clean and pure because an external product slow down the reaction.

Hope it Helps.

Have a Nice Day :-)
