K₂Cr₂O₇ is called as potassium dichromate.

Physical properties:

  • it is a  bright red-orange crystalline solid
  • it is a  toxic inorganic compound which is soluble in water
  • Density of 2.676 g/mL
  • Melting point of 398 °C and boiling point of 500 °C

Uses :

  • It is used as an oxidizing agent in many industrial applications
  • It is used  for preparing strong cleaning solutions for glassware
