Poha

Ingredients needed for Poha

Thick poha – 2 cups

Oil – 2 tbsp

Curry leaves – 1 sprig

Mustard seed – 1 tsp

Peanuts – 1/4 cup

Onion – 1 cup (chopped)

Green peas – 1/2 cup

Green chili – 2-3 (slit into halves)

Salt to taste

Turmeric powder – 1 tsp

How to make Poha

  1. Wash and soak poha in water for 10 minutes, until they are soft.
  2. Drain and keep aside.
  3. Heat oil in a pan.
  4. When the oil is hot, add mustard seeds.
  5. When the seeds starts splattering, add curry leaves and peanuts.
  6. Fry for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Add onion and fry for a minute.
  8. Add green peas, salt and turmeric powder.
  9. Fry again for a minute.
  10. Add the drained poha and simmer the heat.
  11. Cook for 3-4 minutes.
  12. Keep stirring in between.
  13. Serve hot.

Tips

  • Do not soak poha for too long, otherwise it will become mushy.
  • Drain the poha nicely before adding it to the pan.
  • You can add vegetables of your choice to the poha.

  1. 1 sprig mint leaves
  2. 4 chopped into cubes potato
  3. 4 diced tomato
  4. 4 diced onion
  5. 1 kilograms chicken
  6. 3 tablespoon virgin olive oil
  7. 2 teaspoon turmeric
  8. 2 teaspoon garam masala powder
  9. 2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  10. 2 teaspoon curry powder
  11. 2 tablespoon garlic paste
  12. 2 tablespoon ginger paste
  13. 2 teaspoon cumin

Preparation

To prepare this chicken recipe, take a non-stick pan and heat olive oil over medium flame. When the oil is hot enough, add ginger-garlic paste in it and saute for a few seconds till the raw smell goes away.
