A telephone network supports voice call only in the 300 Hz to 3400 Hz of audio whereas the internet supports audio, video and data and bandwidth is really not an issue these days. The telephone network is based on circuit switching while the internet is based on packet switching.
Both will place and receive voice calls. Both can display the Caller ID of the caller. Some fixed line phones have a built in answering machine and can take messages; others offer access to your landline carriers voicemail service - cellular phones all rely on the carriers voicemail service.

Answer:
Recieving calls
Explanation:
Similarities - Both will place and receive voice calls. Both can display the Caller ID of the caller. Some fixed line phones have a built in answering machine and can take messages; others offer access to your landline carriers voicemail service - cellular phones all rely on the carriers voicemail service.
Differences - When used as nouns, phone means a device for transmitting conversations and other sounds in real time across distances, now often a small portable unit also capable of running software etc, whereas telephone means a telecommunication device (originally mechanical, and now electronic) used for two-way talking with another person (often shortened to phone).
