2. It is used in the manufacture of fabric, plastic wrap, paper and soap.

Chlorine:-

1. Chlorine kills bacteria – it is a disinfectant. It is used to treat drinking water and swimming pool water.

2. It is also used to make hundreds of consumer products from paper to paints, and from textiles to insecticides.

Hydrogen:-

1. Commercial fixation of nitrogen from the air in the Haber ammonia process.

2. Hydrogenation of fats and oils.

3. Methanol production, in hydrodealkylation, hydrocracking, and hydrodesulphurization.
