Rising population It is no secret that India’s population has been growing significantly since time immemorial. From over 553 million, in 1970, it has reached an increasing total of over 1 billion and 326 million in 2016. We have the world’s second largest population after China; in fact with the population clock ticking every second, we will soon surpass China too. India being a developing country with increasing scarcity of resources, contributes to about 17.84% of the total world’s population, out of which 68% lives in rural areas and 29.5% is under the poverty line. Clearly, India’s population is no longer an asset to the nation. Unskilled and hungry individuals prove to be no constructive human resources.

Population in India

China, the world’s most populous country has the the fastest growing economy. China and India’s population has a mere difference of 126 million and yet, India stands at rank 10 in terms of GDP while China stands at a proud 2. This is because they realize that their growing population is a hazard, not an advantage. This is precisely why they implemented the “One Child Law” in their country with such vigour. India, unfortunately, is too sensitive and moralistic about these matters. Some may say that it is only the lower classes that are responsible for this issue. If this is the case, why is that many Indian couples of upper classes keep (or are forced to) producing kids until they have a boy? Freedom of choice and human rights are very convenient excuses for our people. We criticize too often, and too easily. We don’t realise the gravity of the situation and cannot come to terms with the fact that all of us need to fight this problem on urgent basis.

Global warming or climate change has today become a major threat to the mankind. The Earth’s temperature is on the rise and there are various reasons for it such as greenhouse gases emanating from carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, burning of fossil fuels or deforestation.

Impact of Greenhouse Gases

The rise in the levels of carbon dioxide (CO2) leads to substantial increase in temperature. It is because CO2 remains concentrated in the atmosphere for even hundreds of years. Due to activities like fossil fuel combustion for electricity generation, transportation, and heating, human beings have contributed to increase in the CO2 concentration in the atmosphere.

Wildlife Since most oils float, the creatures most affected by oil are animals like sea otters and seabirds that are found on the sea surface or on shorelines if the oil comes ashore. During most oil spills, seabirds are harmed and killed in greater numbers than other kinds of creatures.

Flaura and Fauna endangered

Today is Endangered Species Day. Originally, I was going to honor this special day by posting pictures of cute, cuddly, nifty and sadly endangered species — don’t worry, that’s still happening — but alas, environmental news that affects some of our endangered friends has crept into the headlines this week, so I feel like maybe we should talk about that first.

A new study released by the University of Washington – Seattle reveals that in within 100 years, about 90 percent of mammals will have lost their native habitat range due to climate change. Of these mammals, 10 percent of them won’t be able to move fast enough to keep up with their shifting habitat. According to the study, the most at-risk species are actually primates because of the changing climate and because they won’t be able to get to live-able conditions fast enough. Also of concern are animals in tropical regions, which are more susceptible and sensitive to climate changes. The mammals that are expected to fare better are those that can move greater distances, such as elk, moose and sloths. Scientists hope that this new research will enable them to focus on creating migration corridors for those animals most in need.

Also released this week was the Center for Biological Diversity’s report stating that 90 percent of species that are listed under the Endangered Species Act are recovering at their predicted rate. Yay! According to the report, species on the list are recovering, on average, within 25 years of placement on the list. The downside to this news is the fact that there are more species that should be listed as endangered or threatened than there are funds to protect them. For instance, last summer, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) declared that listing the whitebark pine was warranted, but precluded — meaning that the species should be on the endangered list, but can’t be because of lack of funding. This is why American Forests supports more funding for the FWS budget for endangered species during the appropriations process.
Hope this will help you..✌

Nature, our mother has always tried to love us in the way that would be best for us. She has created several aids for our eyes, ears, nose and heart to feel the relief. However she also has the powers to make humans absolutely incognitto from the face of

Earth. Deforestation has always been the strategy for humans to empty the space where some facilitaty needs to be built. Global warming is the direct consequence of deforestation followed by the increasing dangers to flora and fauna. We need to stop this in order to avoid the wide spread catastrophe which will come down on humans from nature herself.
