Hell sir,

I believe rather than being an academic question, this is a real life- question. Therefore, I will try to answer it in the self-same way.

Being a student, I know the approximate likings of the children of my age or below. Some constructive thoughts are below (if the student has to take part in class discussion):

  1. Rather than being assertive, try to be as friendly to them; this will make them comfortable and confident.
  2. Try to avoid the weaker or delicate minds to speak first, rather try to choose a student who is more confident and has no stage fear (not necessarily be the topper of the class)
  3. Try to give them inclusive topics based on their real life rather than a fictional one. This will make the topic interesting. The topic can be anything latest which plays a major role in their lives
  4. Try not to conduct storytelling in larger groups, but break them into smaller groups. This will ease the student.
  5. Try to assign a crystal clear topic. Give some notes or explanation on the topic, before asking the students to present their creation.

Above guidelines are only written keeping in mind the stage performance of the students, and based on the behaviour of my role model teacher.
