From your domestic help you came to know that she is looking for a groom for her 14-year-old daughter . You are shocked and try to dissuade her from doing this but she is determined to go ahead and has made her daughter drop out of school . Write a letter to the editor of a newspaper on the importance of educating and empowering the girl child .

In your letter you should :
• Express your concern that child marriage is common in spite of the law forbidding it .
• State how it is as much as urban phenomenon as a rural one .
• Stress on the importance of empowering girls through education .

Dear sir/ma'am,

I recently came up with a serious situation. My domestic helper is looking for a groom for her 14-year-old daughter. I am so shocked. She is planning to drop her daughter out of school.

Our job is to educate and empower girls. Nowadays it is against the law for child marriage and according to the constitution of India, it is illegal to get children married before 18. Child marriage leads to not so educated India. When the children are supposed to be educated the are married. Girls are no less than boys and we have to educate girls. When girls are educated the nation gains more knowledge because this girl has to teach her kids in the future.

We need to empower women and follow the rules. We should say no to child marriage. Thank You!
