Writing a letter to the editor
When you visited a fast food joint recently, you were shocked to see a sight: an affluent family –
mother, father and two children - was having a sumptuous meal. The children's nanny was
standing behind their table staring at them. She was a girl in her teens and appeared poor
from
the way she was dressed. They had not ordered any food for her. Write a letter to the editor of a
newspaper about how basic humanity is disappearing from the world and how this is making us
insensitive and self-centred.

Subject: Basic humanity is disappearing from the world
Respected Sir/ Ma'am,
I [your name], a resident of Ahmedabad recently visited a fast food joint and what I saw there left me in shock. There was a family which appeared wealthy and consisted of a mother, father and two children. They were having a sumptuous meal and the children's nanny was staring at the food while standing behind. She appeared poor and the family had not ordered food for the poor girl.
It broke my heart that despite having a splendid amount of money, the family was least bother to provide the girl basic food. So, I ordered some food for her, but she was hesitant to take it and the family too stared at me, they were very insensitive. I told them they lacked basic humanity but did not want to create a ruckus there so I left the place.
This incident is not a rare sight to watch as people lack humanity and because of this people are becoming insensitive and self-centred which is very disturbing. Humanity is a basic value which is extremely important and being self-centred would not help any person because what goes around comes around. Being helpful, empathetic and spreading humanity is the need of the hour. I hope you will mention this in your article.
Thanking You
Yours sincerely
