writing in a diary is quite strange for Anne Frank because she had/have never written anything like this in a diary.
In the above answer should we use have or had or both .please give a proper answer along with the topic of grammar this belongs to.

\huge\colorbox{purple} {ANSWER}

HERE YOU SHOULD USE HAD.

\colorbox{pink} {PRESENT PERFECT TENSE }

USED TO EXPRESS AN ACTION WHICH HAS BEEN COMPLETED RECENTLY.

\colorbox{pink} {PRESENT PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE }

USED TO EXPRESS AN ACTION WHICH BEGAN IN THE PAST AND IS STILL CONTINUING.

\colorbox{pink} {PAST PERFECT TENSE }

IT EXPRESSES THE ACTION THAT HAS BEEN COMPLETED BEFORE A DEFINITE TIME.

\colorbox{pink} {PAST PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE }

IT IS USED TO EXPRESS AN ACTION THAT BEGAN IN PAST AND CONTINUED UPTO CERTAIN TIME.

\colorbox{RED} {USES OF HAVE}

1. IT IS USED IN PRESENT PERFECT TENSE,WITH PLURAL SUBJECTS.

EXAMPLE - THEY HAVE WON.

2. IT IS USED IN PRESENT PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE ALONG WITH PLURAL SUBJECT AND BEEN.

EXAMPLE - THEY HAVE BEEN RUNNING FOR 3 HOURS.

\colorbox{RED} {USES OF HAD}

1 . IT IS USED WITH PAST PERFECT TENSE ALONG WITH SUBJECT (MAYBE PLURAL OR SINGULAR)

EXAMPLE - SHE HAD COOKED THE FOOD.

2. IT IS USED IN PAST PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE ALONG WITH BEEN AND ANY KIND OF SUBJECT.

EXAMPLE - THEY HAD BEEN STUDYING FOR THREE HOURS.

IN THE EXTRACT WE CAN SEE THE SENTENCE IS IN THE PAST PERFECT TENSE,BECAUSE THE ACTION HAS BEEN ALREADY COMPLETED. THAT'S WHY WE SHOULD USE HAD.
