- Indian history written by the British officers was prejudice as they ridiculed Indian culture. It was criticised by Indian historians who were educated in English education system. They realised that their history was shown in bad light.
- Indian historians like Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, V. K. Rajwade, Ramesh Chandra Majumdar, Ramkrishna Gopal Bhandarkar and many others not only criticised the prejudiced history written by Britishers but also wrote Indian History
- The nationalistic historiography helped in the triggering of independence movement and provided a momentum to the writing of regional histories too. The attention of historians was drawn to the geographic conditions and history of south Indian regions. Therefore, the writing of the regional history receive momentum
Hope it helps you
