Answer:

It has rightly been remarked that nothing succeeds like success. The value of success is quite obvious. All great men have been successful. People in history are remembered because of their spectacular achievements and success they have won with hard work and sweat of their brow. Success is won and earned by continuous hard labour. Success smiles only on those who are brave, industrious, adventurous and self-reliant.

Success has been man’s primary stimulus. All men and women aspire for success, but a few have it because they only know the secrets of having success. Success is another name for happiness. Now, one may ask what is success? This question cannot be finally answered to the satisfaction of all. We may not be able to define it satisfactorily, but we know what actually success is. Broadly speaking success means all-round development of a person body, mind and soul. These three are the integral part of one’s personality. Without their proper and balanced development, there cannot be full and complete success.

In order to be successful one needs cultivate and develop certain basic qualities. First of all, you must know aim and objective of your life. Unless you know your destination, you cannot set out on a journey. At first, you must by very clear in your objectives to be achieved. What you actually want to be in life? This is a very important question. Indecision is a great hindrance on the path of success. You can be firm, resolute and decisive only when you know your object, the destination of your life’s journey. Well begun is half done. Your work is almost half finished if you have chosen the right road. This is the first but very important step. This is the step which cannot be retraced with safety or advantage. It is a move that decides your future and so also your success or failure. We must exercise utmost care and caution in choosing our profession and career. We should not be swept away by desire on. Never mistake desire for capability. Always match your desire with your capacity, ability and resources. This is the first step success.

Having decided your aim or career, you must pursue it with great care and sincerity. Your profession may be humble or ambitious, but it never matters. What matters is that you cherish it with all your mind and heart. You must hold your profession and calling in high respect. Never be ashamed of your work however humble it might be. You can never be successful if you suffer from inferiority complex as regards your work. All work is sacred and dignified. Gandhiji, a great Karamyogi began with cleaning of lavatories, etc. For him no work was great or small. Another important requirement of success is doing things then and there. Procrastination is thief, of time. Time is money, it is precious. Lost time can never be recovered. Time is opportunity. Once you lose it, you lose it forever. All successful men and women have been great economiser of time. They have always been punctual in their habits and work. Leisure is an unknown word for them, for they have no leisure. Our civilisation and culture owes much to them who have made the best use of their time. They did maximum in minimum time, for they know life is too short. A proper use of time means proper use of opportunity.

For success one needs 5% inspiration and 95% perspiration. There is no substitute for hard labour. Hard work alone takes one at the top of the success. Nothing great and good can be achieved by inspiration or insight alone. Patience and steady labour is the rock-foundation on which you can build your mission of success. Even people with great genius had to labour hard to be a successful and famous actor, painter, political leader or businessman.

In order to be successful, one must always be capable to learn from others, from their mistakes and experience. On never finds faults with his tools or luck and always engages oneself in doing right thing at a right time to achieve success—, A successful man is never indecisive, or lacking in self– discipline or control. He always cultivates good habit, good manners and believes that honesty is the best policy. He also keeps his body fit because he knows that a sound mind resides only in a sound body. He believes in and practices the dignity of labour but avoids overwork.
