Writing
Travelogues are descriptions of a writer's travel experiences. In descriptive writing,
the storyline or narrative, is not the most important part of the essay. Instead, writers focus
on Showing readers what they have seen done or experienced through their use of words.
Using sight, smell, taste, touch and sound words help descriptions come alive. Interesting
vocabulary is very important-readers may get bored if you use the same words all the
time-so instead of saying 'hot day, you can say 'a sweltering morning...
Read Herriot's description of Yorkshire in the first three paragraphs of the text again.
Then, look at this photograph of the tea gardens in the Indian hill station of Munnar,
in Kerala

Imagine that you were there on a holiday recently. Write a travelogue.
You can look up more information about the place on the Internet if necessary
