solids have a fixed shape and volume.

solids have more density

gases don't have a fixed shape and volume

gases have very less density

SOLIDS -

1) solid is the state in which matter maintains a fixed volume and shape

2) there are very less space between the solid paricles

GASES-

1) gases is the state in which matter neither maintains a fixed shape nor a fixed volume.

2) there are too much space between the gaseous particles.
