This is the story of a little girl who lived in a village called Ghariya The people
of Ghariya were peaceful and loving people. The animals and the village people lived
happily together with each other doing what they were best at doing. In this village, lived a
little girl named Ragini. She was a lovely and happy girl. There were two things that she
loved the most going to school and playing with her friends. She had many friends in the
village She would eagerly get up in the morning to go to school and rush back home to
play with her friends. One day, there was a bird who arrived at the edge of the village
Bird's name was Baingar. He was bright as a brinjal and looked like nothing liked you
have seen before
Baingani had travelled
far and wide and had just flown in
after a long journeyAll he wanted
to do was rest for a while before
moving on to his destination As
he was resting under a tree, he
heard a big splash! Who was
that? It was Ragini who was
playing by the river bank She had
just returned from school and was
waiting for her friends to join her
Slowly Baingani inched forward to take a look at her. He had never spoken to a
human before! Ragini was taken aback at first when she saw the bird, but she bravely
spoke first. "Hello, I am Ragini, who might you be?" The bird was startled, he had never
spoken to a person before. He didn't think that they were very friendly. "I am Baingani,
come from a far away land. I usually stay away from people," he said "Why?" Ragini
asked, "Because they do not seem friendly," he remarked "Hmm. maybe because they
have not seen anything like you before," said Ragini thoughtfully. Ragini and the bird
chatted for some time before she had to leave
Soon the sighting of a strange bird reached the ears of the villagers, who did
not hesitate to drive it away. They came to the river bank with sticks and shrill cries,
hoping to scare it. Baingani was in a dilemma now. He wanted to leave, he knew that it
was not a good idea to talk to humans. But he also wanted to see Ragini one last time. As
soon as Ragini heard about the bird being driven away, she went to speak with the elders
of the village. Each house that she went to, she was told the same thing. "We don't know
what kind of a creature this is and who knows what it will do to us!" She finally decided to
meet with the eldest Daad in the village
