Subject- Colossal Wastage of Food in Lavish Indian Weddings.

Sir,

With due regards, I would like to state some points, on the excessive wastage of food, in the so called Big Fat Indian Weddings. Most of the people in our society have this what we may say as their habit, or helplessness, to host a lavish wedding, in which large amount of food is made which ultimately gets wasted.

Indian families spend their entire savings just on weddings. We call ourselves a developing country, but wasting so much money just for weddings is not what developing means. And added to this, the amount of food that is served in these weddings is tremendous, of which not even half is consumed. The left food is wasted, dumped in dustbins. And the irony here is that ours is the country which hosts one of the biggest armies of starving people in the world.

We should realise that the food we waste, is highly condemnable. As responsible citizens, we should rather use the money wasted on food, on constructive purposes, like feeding the poor, starving people, donate in schools, hospitals and NGOs. It's high time we realise, wasting food will not take us anywhere towards development.

I hope my letter gets published in your highly esteemed newspaper.

Thanking you,
Yours Sincerely,

Hope this helps. :-)
