A terminating decimal is a decimal that ends. It's a decimal with a finite number of digits.

A non-terminating, non-repeating decimal is a decimal number that continues endlessly, with no group of digits repeating endlessly. Decimals of this type cannot be represented as fractions, and as a result are irrational numbers

Terminating is when you divide the fraction, the decimal number you get stops after a few numbers.

Eg: 23.7154

Non terminating is when you divide the fraction, the decimal number you get goes on forever.

Eg: 23.7777777.....
