the difference between hoard and horde is :-

HOARD: to store things
for example : do not hoard grains in times of war.

and

HORDE: a large group of people 
for example :  large hordes of farmers invaded paris.

A stock or store of money or valued objects, typically one that is secret or carefully guarded is called HOARD.
A large number of people in a group of people is called HORDE.
