Answer:-

 \sf \log(x + 2) - \log(x - 1) =  \log2

 \sf \implies \log( \frac{x + 2}{x - 1} ) =  \log2

 \sf \implies  \frac{x + 2}{x - 1}  = 2

Taking out log from both the side, we get,

 \sf \implies x + 2 = 2x - 2

 \sf \implies 2x - x = 2 + 2

 \sf \implies x =4

Hence, the value of x is 4.
