Answer:

a square have 4 equal sides

Explanation:

so, a) 4 × side = perimeter

4 × side = 5

side = 5 / 4

side = 1.25 cm

b) area = side × side

area = 1.25 × 1.25

area = 1.5625cm2

hey mate

given that ribbon is used to form a square and length of ribbon is 5cm

lets take side of square as X

square has 4 sides = 4X

( e ) so length of ribbon = total length of square

5cm = 4X ==> X = 5/4 cm or 1.25 cm

so length of one side of square is 1.25 cm or 5/4 cm

( 1 ) area of square is side × side

==> 5/4 × 5/4 = 25/16 sqcm or 1.5625 sqcm

so Area of square is 25/16 sqcm or 1.5625 sqcm
