The acceleration of a body depends upon two major factors. Those two factors are :-
- Change in velocity (final velocity - initial velocity)
- Time for which the force is applied

It does not matter that the one ball is heavier than the other. The acceleration of an object due to gravity is independent of the mass of the object. It does not matter what the mass of the object is. The shape of the object, however, is important.
