The lighter the molecule, the faster will be the diffusion. In this case, Hydrogen has molecular mass of 2 while Carbon Dioxide has molecular mass of 44. So it is obvious that : Hydrogen will diffuse faster than Carbon Dioxide.

H₂ gas would show fastest diffusion.

According to the Graham's Law of diffusion, it states that if the rate of diffusion of a gas is considered to be r, then it is related to the molecular mass of the gas according to the reation shown below.

r ∝ 1/M, where M is the molecular mass of the gas.

So, more the molecular mass of the gas, lesser would be its diffusion and viceversa.

The molar mass of H₂ gas is = 2(1) = 2 gm

Molar mass of CH₄ is = 12 + 4(1) = 16gm

Molar mass of CO₂ gas is = 12 + 2(16) = 44 gm

As H₂ gas has the least molecular mass, its diffusion would be fastest.
