The camel is used for several purposes for which its role is essential.
It is used as a beast of burden for transporting goods and people as well as for providing milk. Milk is often the only regular food source for its owners.

Deserts are hot and dry. Winds blow sand all around, so a camel has long eyelashes. It has nostrils that can open and close.


They have a thick coat of hair that protects them from the sun. They have wide, soft feet, so they can walk for a long time in the hot sand. Several adaptations help a  camel live in a desert  .
