As per the question the given equation is like this:
x^2-y^2=101, which can be written as:-
(x+y)*(x-y)=101…..(a)
Now as we have one equation, we can assume that x-y=1, ie x and y are two consecutive natural numbers. Hence x+y=101 as per equation (a).
x-y=1……..(1)
x+y=101…(2)
Solving the two simultaneous equation, we get;
x=51 and y=50.
So we got two numbers as 51 and 50.
So,
Sum of the squares of the two numbers=51^2+50^2=5101.
