Let, x-1 = t

Then, according to the question :

- 5t - 6

=> t²-6t+t-6 = 0

=> t(t-6)+1(t-6) = 0

=> (t-6)(t+1) = 0

t = 6 and -1

When t = 6 then, x = 6+1 = 7

when t = -1 then, x = -1+1 = 0
