Given:-

\rm \dfrac{x+1}{2x+3}=\dfrac{2}{8}

To find:-

value of x

Solution:-

\\ \rm\longmapsto \dfrac{x+1}{2x+3}=\dfrac{2}{8}

  • Use cross multiplication

\\ \rm\longmapsto 8(x+1)=2(2x+3)

\\ \rm\longmapsto 8x+8=4x+6

\\ \rm\longmapsto 8x-4x=6-8

\\ \rm\longmapsto 4x=-2

\\ \rm\longmapsto x=\dfrac{-2}{4}

\\ \bf\longmapsto x=\dfrac{-1}{2}

Answer:

(x+1)/(2x+3)=2/8

= 8x+1=2(2x+3)

=8x-4x+1-12=0

4x-11=0

= x= 11/4
