x=1/4;y=3/2 find (x+y)÷(x-y)

Answer:

x=1/4

y=3/2

x+y=1/4+3/2=(1+6)/4=7/4

x-y=1/4-3/2=(1-6)/4= -5/4

so,

(x+y)÷(x-y)

=7/4÷(-5/4)

=7/-5

= -7/5

= -1 2/5

first ,

 \sf x + y =  \frac{1}{ 4}  +  \frac{3}{2}  =  \frac{7}{4}

then second ,

 \sf x - y =  \frac{1}{4}  -  \frac{3}{2}  =  \frac{ - 5}{4}

so , finding (x+y)/(x-y)

 \sf   = \frac{7}{4}  \div ( \frac{ - 5}{4} ) =  \frac{7}{ \cancel4}  \times  \frac{ \cancel4}{  - 5}  =  \frac{ - 7}{5}
