Answer:

There are many methods to solve this problem. Either u can multiply factors and divide dividend by resultant to get quotient = constant value. or use my easy method.

f(1)=1-a-b-4=0

-a-b=3

therefore a+b=-3 ---1

f(2)=8-4a-2b-4=0

-4a-2b=-4

2a+b=2 ---2

subtract the eqs.

a=5

b=2-2a

=2-10

=-8
